BEHIND THE DESIGNS…
Ashley Bland is the name and S27 Designs, LLC is my baby… literally – let me explain!
After graduating from ODU, I worked at several and I do mean SEVERAL companies I felt would lead to lucrative careers… unfortunately that did not happen. From “I am sorry, you are not experienced”, to “Your performance is excellent, but there is no room in the budget to promote/move you.” – I’ve heard it all!
At my last position, I kept chugging along, day after day, answering call after call – SOUL DRAINING!!! Then along came 2018, dun, dun… DUN – I gave birth to my baby boy on September 27th, (“there is love in the name”). While at home, I enjoyed my beautiful baby but boredom creeps up on you when your little person can’t respond back to you! This is when I started dusting off old hobbies/interests of writing, creating and designing.
It did not take long to realize I had no desire to return to the politics of corporate America where ‘man’ feels they have all the power to decide when and where I get promoted. I felt undervalued in my past positions, so why keeping working to fuel someone else’s wealth when I can create my OWN wealth?
